VLC does not play on stupid Windows Vista

I was so excited to watch Night at the Museum yesterday but little did i know i would be watching just the first 15 minutes. My old PC froze after the first quarter because of limited memory i presume. I decided to watch the video on Vista then but Windows Media Player would not play the video clip because it doesnt like the .avi extension. So i thought i might as well install the VLC player but all i could hear was sound with no video images. The stupid Vista wouldnt play the video right while XP had no problem. That meant i couldnt watch the movie at all and had to go to sleep early because there was nothing worth watching on TV.

Anyway i found a solution today which could make the VLC player work on Vista. Here’s the solution:

I will try that tonight and see if it’s going to work for me
