I passed the Microsoft 70-536 Foundation exam on ASP.NET 2.0 yesterday. I got 982 points out of 1000 (pass mark is 700/1000). I am really happy because now i am officially a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS). I took the first MS exam in December last year and after about 3 weeks took the second one. There’s one last exam to complete before i become a Microsoft Cerfitied Professional Developer MCPD but i think i am going to wait a couple of months before i do that as i am exhausted now.
Archive for January 2008
Since it came out, i wanted one. But due to its high popularity, it sold out very quickly. I remember it was the perfect and most wanted gift for Xmas 2006. Anyway i managed to get hold of one today (10th Jan 2008) at Game in Oxford Street, London. It costs me £180 for the console which come with one set of controllers and 1 game, the Wii Sports. I bought another game as well, Sonic and the Secret Rings for £20. So i paid £200 in total.
Mind you that it was my first ever game console in my lifetime. I always wanted one when i was younger (yeh, i’m a bit older now) but i couldn’t afford it. Anyway, the Nintendo Wii is an awesome console and i recommend to all. The first night i got it, i played all of the Wii Sports games – Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Boxing, Baseball but didn’t have enough time for Sonic. The next morning though my whole body was aching because of all the movements you make when playing the Wii. I mean it is really good because if you’re lazy enough not to do any exercise, this can really help you. You will be doing something fun while playing the game and at the same time exercising. What could be better, eh?
The next game that i am eager to get is Mario. Oh did i tell you that the Nintendo Wii has got no age limits, even parents and grandparents love that thing!!!
If you are using ASP.NET 2.0 membership, all your users will be stored under tha App_Data folder in ASPNETDB.MDF database. If you want to open the database, you can do so by connecting to your SQLEXPRESS server. You have to launch SQL server Management Studio and use the connect Object Explorer to connect to COMPUTERNAME\SQLEXPRESS where COMPUTERNAME is the name you’ve given to your computer.
Once you are connected, right click on ‘Databases’ and click on ‘Attach’. A window will pop up and you can click on the ‘Add’ button and browse to the location of the ASPNETDB.MDF file. You can find this location by clicking on the properties windows in Visual Studio 2005. Once this is done, click ‘OK’ at the bottom on the pop up window and you will be able to view the contents of the MDF file.
I spent christmas 2007 and new year’s eve with the family, so i had a quiet time in – just a few drinks and the usual shisha party
Anyway I’ve decided that my resolution for the year 2008 is going to be as follows:
- Spend more time with Poum
- Buy a house
- Increase my adsense earnings to $1000 (hehe)
- Find time to play my guitar
- Eat more healthy food (i think i’ve lost weight btw)
- Acquire the microsoft certifications which will help me most in my career
I don’t know how many i’ll be able to do but at least i know what i am aiming for this year. Good luck to me
